Susan
is starting a new company called SmartSilvers
Alliance . The goal of SmartSilvers is to "leverage
technologies which foster active aging"TM. Our mission is to promote awareness,
development and deployment of innovative, consumer friendly products and
technology-leveraged services which cater to the unique needs of our
expanding senior population, providing independence, mobility and quality of
lifestyle within safe, comfortable and familiar home environments. Susan
is also an active board member of the MIT Enterprise Forum. The MIT Enterprise Forum, Inc. was formed in 1978 to support the
missions of the MIT Alumni Association and of MIT itself by building
connections to technology entrepreneurs and to the communities in which they
reside. The Enterprise Forum produces a series of educational programs about
entrepreneurship through a network of 23 worldwide chapters and through
programs such as the Global Broadcast Series, which is available for viewing
live via satellite at a variety of locations. MIT Alumni, students, parents
and non-alumni technology entrepreneurs are invited to participate in Forum
activities. Susan
has recently retired as Chairman of the MIT/Stanford
Venture Lab (VLAB). The VLAB is
one of the global chapters of the MIT Enterprise Forum. Susan
organizes and directs the CEO Pitches at the
AlwaysOn
Innovation Summits at Stanford University
which highlights the business models of over 35 of the hottest private
technology companies and is involved in the business Plan competition for the
Boomer Business
Summit as a screening judge. Susan Ayers-Walker
holds a BSEE from Northeastern University, and a MSCS from Rutgers. She is an
experienced freelance writer. |
